This beach house and its surrounding community offers the following services: Same or next day laundry service, medical services, children’s activities and services, church services, Banks and ATMs, transfers and much, much more.

In addition to amenities, Hotel Akumal Caribe also offers a wide variety of services that accommodate groups and special events. If you need assistance with your wedding, family reunion, church group, student organization, or other special interest group you have come to the right place! Relax and let us make your trip worry free and your function special from concept to cleanup including setting up special menus.

Here are a few of the services that you can find in and around Akumal. Not all are part of the Hotel. Please ask at the front desk for any information you need. They will be happy to help you out in any way they can.

LAUNDRY SERVICE:
Should you need to wash your clothes while on vacation, there is a laundry service around the corner from the grocery store. It is open from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If your laundry is in before 8:00 a.m., it will be back the same day around 6:00 p.m. Otherwise, it is next day service.

MEDICAL SERVICE:
Believe it or not, if you step on a spiny sea urchin, the best advice can be given at the Dive Center to help the pain. If you require other medical service for minor ailments and injuries, there is a clinic a few miles south of Akumal that serves the local population. A taxi will take you there, or if driving yourself, it is on the left hand side about 6 or 7 kilometers. There is a tall radio antenna installed on its premises. However, we recommend going to Playa del Carmen. The reception will make an appointment with the doctor. For more serious medical situation, there are two good hospitals in Cancun, the American Hospital and Total Assist.

For emergencies, contact the front office, and we will call a doctor that makes house call for our guests. They are from Playa del Carmen, and give service to the hotel guests in the area.

CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES AND SERVICE:
We welcome families and are always upgrading our facilities to cater to them. If a crib or a baby-sitter will be needed and advance arrangements have not been made, we will try to arrange for them, but cannot guarantee the service unless it is requested when reserving your room. We offer a child care program that runs every day. The activity center is located behind the Snack Bar. There are morning and evening programs, as well as afternoon programs on request. Stop by to ask for a detailed description of the program. We offer a variety of programs designed to meet your vacation schedule.

CHURCH SERVICES:
The new town of Akumal located just across the highway has a church, with services on Monday at 5 :3Opm. Also the town of Chemuyil 6.3 km south of Akumal has a catholic church with services every Tuesday at 7 :3Opm. As you drive in to Chemuyil continue on that road going straight all the way to the end. It is on the left hand side.

AKUMAL BILINGUAL LIBRARY:
There is a local library funded in part by the Ecological Center of Akumal located in the basketball court plaza on the north end. There you may find a good variety of selections in both English and Spanish :books on archaeology facts on the Mayans, Spanish-English dictionaries, great bilingual children's storybooks, adult fiction, games, puzzles and more. There is no need for a library card simply sign the check out sheet with your name, room number, etc. Check the hours at the front desk.

BANKS:
Akumal has been designed so that you may pay for any service in U.S dollars, traveler's checks, and pesos. You may also exchange your U.S dollars at the Reception. All shops and restaurants readily accept any of the above. Money exchange and credit card service are given in the banks in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. They operate Monday to Friday 9:00am to 1:00pm
