Where is Manuel from?
Senore, which is about the size of Tulum, 6-8,000 people. It is two hours away. He came here 7 years ago. His first job was a grounds keeper then he moved to the kitchen and from there got promoted to busboy. Manuel came here to see other types of the world. He said this is very different and there is much more opportunity here.

Ek in Maya means star. He sure is that when it comes to raising a family – Manuel has 8 children, 3 girls and 5 boys, at the time of this interview they ranged in age from 23 years old to 3 months. His entire family lives in Senore. The older children work in Playa during the high seasons.
His favorite thing to do?
He loves to read. On his days off he likes to visit his dad and help on the farm
