Where is he from?
Sotuta a city in the state of Yucatan about 3 hours from Akumal. Almost ½ the staff from HAC is from this place. There are about 5,000 people who live in Sotuta. It was built in the 1850's so it is a very old with a lot of history. It was a colonial Spanish city that pre-existed the war of castes. Gabino, like many from this place, is very proud of their history.

How long has he been here?
About 9 years. Gabino's 1st job was as a dishwasher. Before he worked at HAC he was at an all-inclusive. He left that job because they would not allow him the time off to go to Sotuta's annual festival. He explains that the festival lasts for two weeks and HAC allows ½ the staff to go the first week and the other half go the 2nd week. He appreciates that HAC understands the significance and how important it is that people be able to attend. The All-inclusive he said did not understand.
