Villa Taj-Kumal is the ONLY villa on Akumal Bay..…… 4,000 square feet in a Moroccan Mediterranean architecture. There is a two car covered garage with the manager / owner's quarters detached from the villa. Next to these quarters is the detached 5th bedroom. Upon entering the main house, a giant Buddha statue and elephant tusks are the first things you see with the pool in the background.

The pool area has 10 beach loungers, a king size lounge bed, and 2 pagodas with table and chairs. The rooftop has a built in table and seating with the best panoramic view of all Akumal! The fully equipped kitchen has a domed brick ceiling, a breakfast table, a wet bar that passes through to the dining room, and a pass through window to the pool area! The living room couches are decked out in African print fabric with lots of cushions and powder room on the side.

Every room in Taj-kumal has a beautiful view of the ocean. All bedrooms have A/C and attached bathrooms. There are two king master bedrooms downstairs. A spiral wooden staircase leads to the Imperial master bedroom with a canopied teak king-size bed in front of a carved stone wall. It has a wraparound covered balcony with a panoramic view of Akumal Bay.

The 4th bedroom is The New PRANA BUNGALOW, meaning inner energy in Hindi. It is designed in a BALINESE- HINDU FASHION. It is situated in front of the pool and independent of the main house. A private garden with coconut palm trees and a bronze statue of "the Queen of the Seas", adorns its entrance. The bathroom is divided in 3; the toilet separate from the marble sink area, and an indoor and outdoor shower!
The floor is rustic with river stones adorning the amoeba shaped plaques. The outdoor shower has large flat stones to step on so you can get a natural foot massage while you shower under the sun, moon, and stars.

Above the covered garage is THE HELLAS ROOM, ancient name for GREECE, the 5th bedroom. This quaint room has its own separate stairwell/ entry with a queen bed. Like entering a typical Greek room in Mykonos or Santorini in the Mediterranean.

A 6th bedroom will be completed by Dec. 2013 above the kitchen, facing the pool, with a king bed. The huge terrace overlooking the pool and bay will have a stair case to the pool deck, so no need to enter the main house to go to this fabulous bedroom. The capacity for Villa Taj-Kumal will increase to 13 people. The villa will be offered with full chef service 6 days a week with the rental.
