Instead of buying dinner for yourself, how about buying meals for "our kids" in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico? The nonprofit that I help lead is having a spring fundraiser to keep these programs running. We operate two homes where children have access to education that is unavailable in their native villages.

VIM (Villa Infantil Maya) is where 28 high school and middle school students live during the week near good schools on the border between the states of Quintana Roo and Yucatan.

The “Shelter” is where 12 young men live while attending college in Merida, the big city with most of the higher education in the peninsula.

Most village youth never get a high school education, so getting this far is a real accomplishment for these good kids. Our help is the only way they can afford it.

We need operating funds to continue paying for the room, board, and staff that care for them.

How much would you spend to go out to a restaurant? Just $25 would a buy over a week's worth of meals for one of these youth! You can give checks or cash to me personally, mail it to our address below, or giveonline. Checks should be made out to Friends of Accion (a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization).
